Project Description

Joey Wolosz, the vintner of Gentleman Farmer, joined John Sporing, founder of A Life Well Drunk, for a virtual tasting on June 25th, 2020.

Did you miss the live virtual tasting? No worries, watch it here:

For our Pride Week “Conversations with a Wine Maker” we talked with winemakers as they told us their stories of their journeys, their wineries, and being part of the LGBT Community. In the June 25th tasting we sipped and discussed 3 wines:

2019 Gentleman Farmer Napa Valley Rosé

2018 Gentleman Farmer Napa Valley Chardonnay

2017 Gentleman Farmer Napa Valley Red Wine; a blend of Bordeaux varietals

The three-pack benefitted the It Gets Better Project supporting LGBT+ youth.  10% of sales were donated to the It Gets Better Project.  The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit organization with a mission to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the globe.

We look forward to seeing everyone again soon in person, until then we hope to see you at the tastings!

Meet the Maker

Joey Wolosz is the vintner of Gentleman Farmer. Joey and his husband started Gentleman Farmer to reconnect with the world.

We have a need to just be human in this very digital age, to reconnect with what is real. To hear a story told in an authentic voice. It is the tactile, the analogue, and the acoustic that touch us. It is also the artisanal. Winegrowing is at the crossroads of nature and culture. It is a balance between the imagination of the craftsman and the wisdom of the grower.

Working with what Mother Nature gives us, we celebrate the vintage and the variations that come with each one. We err on the human side of winemaking.

“The label reads Gentleman Farmer but calling myself a country gentleman would be a stretch. I am just a sidekick winemaker waking up each morning doing my life’s best work.”
